The Challenge

Western BACE is a Business Accelerator and Centre of Excellence based in the city of Melton, Victoria. It is a local government initiative with funding from the Australian Federal Government. They officially opened their doors on 8th May 2015. It is a hub of enterprise, community activity, and business development for Melbourne’s critical growth area in the West. Western BACE’s aim is to foster business, education and innovation, in order to create sustainable employment opportunities within the region.

Their challenge was to provide access to marketing resources that you would ordinarily find in the CBD to their entrepreneurial community in the centre to enable further growth for the businesses.

The Solution

Marketing Entourage worked closely with Western BACE to understand their needs and the needs of the business. The businesses needed support in the centre and it needed to be affordable but accessible. So, Marketing Entourage implemented a 12-week intensive marketing programme based on their core strategic thinking workshops. This programme would be delivered in four workshops to 10 businesses on the Western BACE accelerator programme at a time. Sam and Phil would also be available for three doctors style surgery drop in sessions during the time period.

Marketing Entourage would also deliver less intensive evening workshops to the Centre and wider community once a month.

The feedback has been phenomenal. As Mark Corrie, CEO of Western BACE said to us as we were leaving the building “you can’t put a price on the nuggets of gold you provide to these businesses”. Love TEAse, one of the Centre’s accelerator businesses, was advised on the customer experience she would create at an industry expo. We suggested that she celebrate her uniqueness, let it stand out, and create an experience she knows the people that love her brand would love to see. A rock festival vibe in a tea expo grew her database exponentially, check out the photos here
